We offer you and your dog a behavioral-training consultation to better get to know you, your dog and your goals for training. Often owners are overwhelmed by the training choices between group lessons and one-on-one training. The consultation allows our trainer to test temperament, social skills, your bond with your dog, as well as discuss any previous training to date.
We can discuss the benefits of group lessons, daycare training, and one-on-one training to discover the best fit for you and your dog. Because every dog is unique, we too offer a personalized experience to accomplish your goals and create a strong and healthy relationship between you and your best friend.
Get all of your questions answered and find out the training possibilities with your dog in your personal consultation.
This is a comprehensive behavioral evaluation.
Dogs with aggression issues also receive a complete medical exam by our Veterinarian.
This fee applies in full towards all of our dog training programs, except group classes.
We know we are not going to be able to solve serious behavior issues in one session, but we guarantee you will get a professional, honest assessment of your pet.
Our goal is to help you understand the problems and give you solid options to begin training and working on solutions.

Our house manners group training class is designed as a stepping stone for graduates of our Beginning Obedience class. We continue to build skills learned in basic obedience while introducing more advanced skills into your dog’s repertoire. House Manner classes typically include off-leash-in-home behavior as well as adding distance, distraction, and duration to basic skills. In House Manners you will develop your skills as a handler and learn to understand your dog on a deeper level.
Because your dog is constantly learning, our House Manners class continues educating you and your dog to create a healthy home life. We will address issues such as barking at the door, jumping on guests, as well as behavior at feeding time. We encourage an open communication setting where you can continue to ask your questions and get answers to help you build your relationship with your dog and create a stable home life that both you and your dog can enjoy.
The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program, established in 1989, is an American Kennel Club program to promote responsible dog ownership and to encourage the training of well-mannered dogs. A dog and handler team must take a short behavioral evaluation of less than half an hour; dogs who pass the evaluation earn the Canine Good Citizen certificate, which many people represent after the dog’s name, abbreviating it as CGC; for example, “Fido, CGC”.
The evaluation consists of ten objectives. All items must be completed satisfactorily or the team fails. Test items include:
- Accepting a friendly stranger.
- Sitting politely for petting.
- Allowing basic grooming procedures.
- Walking on a loose lead.
- Walking through a crowd.
- Sitting and lying down on command and staying in place.
- Coming when called.
- Reacting appropriately to another dog.
- Reacting appropriately to distractions.
- Calmly enduring supervised separation from the owner.
Evaluators sometimes combine elements during the actual test.
If all ten objectives are met, the handler can apply for a certificate and special dog tag from the AKC stating that the dog has earned the CGC.
Dogs do not have to be registered with the AKC to earn a CGC, nor do they have to be purebred or, in fact, registered with any canine organization. The goal is to promote good citizenship for all dogs.
Since its inception, the CGC program has become the model for similar programs around the world, is the backbone of other exams, such as those given for therapy dogs, and is a good starting point for more advanced dog training.
